A violent altercation at Addu City on late Sunday ended with two youths getting stabbed by yet unidentified assailants.
According to Addu Regional Hospital's head Mohamed Najeeb two youths were rushed in for medical attention following a violent assault.
Najeeb confirmed that one of the injured received a major concussion to his head, but stated the attack was not made using any sharp implements.
Though stabbed both victims were reported to be faring well after medical attention and Najeeb claimed their conditions were stabilizing.
The sudden surge in violent altercations and stabbings have pushed Maldives Police to increase patrolling across the southern most city.
In a completely unrelated incident a motorbike was incinerated later on Sunday, moments after the stabbing incident transpired.
