Authorities have been successful in tracing a local fisherman who went missing after heading out on a short fishing expedition from Noonu atoll Lhohi.
The traced fisherman has been identified as Hussain Adnan, aged 30 years and of Lhohi residency.
Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) traced Adnan through an air-rescue effort via seaplane. Authorities confirm he was in stable condition at the time of discovery.
MNDF further reported that their Coast Guard unit was attempting to transfer the rescued fisherman to Noonu atoll Manadhoo.
The local fisherman took off from Lhohi around 22:30hrs on Wednesday night and was last heard around 01:00hrs on Thursday morning.
MNDF reports the missing persons report was lodged at them around 02:00hrs of Thursday morning.
