Saudi Arabia tourist market to Maldives tourism, which considerably has been low, has started booming in 2018.
According to Tourism Ministry statistics a total of 3,466 tourists visited form Saudi Arabia to the island nation in July 2018. This marks an 8.4% increase from the 3,196 holidaymakers from the Arabian giant visiting Maldives during the same month last year.
From January 2018 until the end of July the total number of Saudi Arabian tourists visiting Maldives reached 13,579 while in 2017 the figure hit 10,931 during the same period. Tourism Ministry indicates a 24.2% increase in Saudi Arabia's tourist market for 2018 in total for the elapsed months.
The total number of tourists visiting from Middle-Eastern region hit 6,693 in July, while in July 2017 the figure hit 6,593 marking a 1.5% jump for 2018.
The total number of tourists visiting Maldives from the said region from January til the end of July reached 29,823 while last year the number of holidaymakers gracing Maldives from Middle-East reached 27,478. Thus marking an 8.5% increase in Middle-Eastern tourism market.
According to the ministry's reflected statistics a total of 122,332 holidaymakers visited the island nation during the month of July this year while in 2017 the figure reached 113,175 during the same month; thus registering the 8.1% jump.
From January til the end of July 2018 the total number of tourists visiting Maldives hit 848,847 whereas during the same period in 2017 the holidaymaker visits to Maldives reached 770,715 which in terms of the elapsed seven months is a 10.1% increase.
