Maldives President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom on Monday morning has inaugurated the newly developed and installed harbor and water network respectively at Alif Dhaal Dhan'gethi.
Government invested MVR51.7 million on the construction and development of the island's harbor while state owned Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) carried out the project.
Alif Dhaal Dhan'gethi's new harbor boasts 700 feet in length and 300 feet in width, while pavement and lights were installed in an area of 1070 feet attached with the harbor.
Ministry of Environment and Energy assigned Lucky Export with the installation of a water or distillery network in the island for an exact cost of MVR 295,849,902.96 on the project.
Under the project a seven kilometer fresh water network was installed in the island with the installation of two 60 ton desalination plants.
