The UK High Commissioner to Sri Lanka and Ambassador to Maldives James Dauris has met with Maldives Foreign Secretary Ahmed Sareer to discuss the crunch presidential elections slated on September 23.
Mr. Dauris paid a courtesy call on the Foreign Secretary on Monday morning.
During the meeting at Ministry of Foreign Affairs the UK ambassador and foreign secretary had "focused on ways to further strengthen and enhance the existing bilateral relations between the two countries and also held discussions on the upcoming Presidential Elections."
Sareer was accompanied by Shiuneen Rasheed, Director and Mohamed Shujau, Desk Officer at the ministry while ambassador Dauris was accompanied by Philippe Dickinson, Second Secretary of British Embassy at Colombo during Monday's meeting.
