Fire at Housing Min labor quarter leaves for expats with injuries

A fire at the labor quarters of Housing Ministry on early hours of Saturday has left four expatriates with injuries.

The fire broke out around 03:00hrs on Saturday morning, while Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has managed to extinguish the flames completely afterwards.

The incident resulted in some damage Police Tow-Yard which is located right next to the labor quarters.

Authorities were able to 'kill' the fire completely around 03:40hrs while four expatriates who were sleeping in the quarters around the time the fire broke-out were injured and rushed to hospital for medical treatment.

MNDF reports they are unsure about the exact reason for the fire but claimed they were investigating the matter.
