Ex-Pres Nasheed calls for parliament sitting with all lawmakers

Former Maldives president Mohamed Nasheed on Wednesday called out to hold a parliament sitting with all active lawmakers present for the session.

In a tweet on Wednesday the ex-president pressed importance on holding parliament sessions after Maldives public decided their new president for the next five year term. Nasheed emphasized holding parliament session as key to achieving political resolve.

The Maldives parliament is currently in recess with the expected resume on October.

Meanwhile the president-elect Ibrahim Mohamed Solih claimed parliament sessions will commence soon; putting an end to the current recess the parliament is experiencing.

The president-elect on Tuesday had met with parliamentarians to discuss about key issues prior to officially taking over as Maldives president.
