A 17 year old remains in critical condition after suffering an electric shock in the capital Male on Monday evening.
Sources say the boy suffered a major electric shock after he attempted to pick up a fallen light post inside an empty football field.
Police confirmed that the incident was reported around 8.20pm on Monday. The victim had been rushed to the state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH).
A hospital official said the victim had been unconscious when he was brought in and was being treated in intensive care.
However, details of the injuries suffered by the victim remains unclear.
