A 14 year old boy was stabbed to death in the capital Male in the wee hours of Thursday morning amid a recent spate of stabbing attacks.
Police said the victim now identified as Ismail Shaffan Shareef was stabbed around 1.55am in Galolhu ward. The 14 year old was stabbed in the neck according to police.
The victim was unconscious when he was rushed to the privately-run ADK hospital where he was pronounced dead shortly after.
The latest incident is the fourth attack in less than a week which appear to be gang related.
A 24 year old man was stabbed in the capital Male on Wednesday while another man was stabbed multiple times in a brutal attack in the capital Male on Monday evening. The first attack was reportedly in the southernmost Atoll Addu City on Saturday.
