Police have launched a special operation over the recent spate of stabbing attacks in the capital Male and the southernmost Atoll Addu City.
A 14 year old boy was stabbed to death in the capital Male in the wee hours of Thursday morning which was the fourth stabbing in less than a week.
Police in a statement on Thursday said a special operation has been launched to investigate the attacks adding that several suspects have already been arrested.
A 24 year old man was stabbed in the capital Male on Wednesday while another man was stabbed multiple times in a brutal attack in the capital Male on Monday evening. The first attack was reportedly in the southernmost Atoll Addu City on Saturday.
