A 66 year old Korean tourist who was holidaying at Paradise Island Resort drowned on Wednesday.
Police confirmed reports of this incident and revealed that the woman drowned while snorkeling. She passed away while being treated at ADK Hospital in capital Male'.
Two Filipino honeymooners out swimming in the small channel separating Meeru Island Resort and Kaafu Atoll Dhiffushi island drowned also this week. Their remains were repatriated back to their home country on the expense of the Maldivian government.
