Police have released the suspect arrested last week in connection to the mysterious death of a young woman in the reclaimed suburb Hulhumale earlier this month.
The 27 year old woman now identified as Aishath Vishama, was found dead on January 12. She was taken to Tree Top Hospital who forwarded her case to the police for further investigation on Saturday. No signs of struggle or injury were visible on her body.
It is unknown what prompted the hospital to deem her death as requiring further investigation.
Police have remained tight-lipped over the investigation since the arrest and subsequent release of the still unidentified suspect.
The woman's death had been subject to public speculation including a drug overdose as the cause of death which however, had been refuted by her family.
