A man who jumped off Sinamale' Bridge on Friday morning has been rescued by Maldives Police Service.
Although motor accidents on the bridge are frequent, this is the first time an incident such as this occurred on the bridge.
An eyewitness told AVAS that the man jumped off the bridge halfway between Hulhumale' and Male'. The man was recused from the ocean below by the police.
The man further revealed that a child was present on the walking lane of the bridge at the time of the incident. It is believed that the child was with the man before he jumped off.
Police confirmed that the incident took place, but did not divulge further details.
