In the past 24 hours, more than 120 warning messages were issued to vehicle owners regarding speeding and illegal lane changes on the Sinamale' Bridge and highway.
The police recently introduced a system that sends alerts to drivers engaged in dangerous driving practices to ensure safer road conditions. According to statistics, a total of 120 warning messages were dispatched between 7:30 AM on Sunday and 7:30 AM today.
The automated system identifies vehicles that are exceeding speed limits and making illegal lane changes on the bridge using cameras. The system then sends messages to the registered owners, indicating the vehicle's speed at the time of the violation.
In a previous statement, the police emphasized the importance of adhering to speed limits and road safety regulations, urging drivers to prioritize safety on the roads.
"Please do not drive faster than the speed limit outlined by the road safety regulations," police said in an earlier statement.
