An accident occurred late Friday night on the highway connecting Male' and Hulhumale'.
Police said the accident occurred around 11:40 pm when two motorcycles collided after the handlebar of one motorcycle was clipped by the second vehicle. Both drivers sustained injuries in the collision.
Several dangerous accidents have occurred on the highway since the Sinamale' Bridge was opened in 2018. Authorities have mandated motorcycle drivers and its passengers to wear helmets when using the bridge and highway.
