A Chinese tourist dies while diving in Ga. atoll.
The 50-year old man who went diving on a safari from Ga. atoll was taken to the atoll hospital after his health deteriorated while diving. The man was taken to the hospital at 12.05pm and had already passed away by the time he was brought to the hospital, revealed the police.
While a Chinese tourist passed away today, last week a 60 year old German woman fatally drowned at a local resort.
The growing number of drowning deaths recently prompted the police to issue a warning about beach and water safety. The authorities have warned of the risk of drowning, mainly for international visitors.
The Tourism Ministry is trying to identify the reasons behind such drownings in a bid to prevent such tragic incidents.
