Prestigious award of recognition presented to historians

Prestigious awards of recognition have been presented to eleven individuals for their contribution towards the research of the Maldivian History.

The eleven individuals, including Editor of AVAS news Mundoo Adam Haleem received their awards during a first-of-its-kind ceremony held on Wednesday night to mark the "National History Day". This is the first time the contribution towards the research of the Maldivian History has been recognized.

Editor Mundoo Adam Haleem is an experienced journalist who has worked in senior positions of top news agencies including Haveeru, Aafthis, Sun Online, V News. He has received the National Award of Journalism and the "Golden Pen" award in the past. He has been researching and writing articles on Maldivian history since the early 2000s.

The official academy of Dhivehi language decided to mark the National History Day on the anniversary of the death of Al-Qazi Hassan Thaajuddin, a renowned historian.

Heritage Minister Yumna Maumoon and President of the Dhivehi Language Academy Ashraf Ali participated in the ceremony held at the Islamic University Hall.
