Four people have been arrested with drugs after the police searched an oil tanker under a court order.
The operation was executed by Maldives Police Service based on a tip received by the Police Intelligence. The boat was raided while moored at the harbor of Kalhaidhoo island in Laamu atoll. All four arrested men were Maldivian nationals, revealed the police.
Upon searching the vessel, a film-canister and bag containing substances suspected to be drugs were discovered by the police.
The police have been executing several operations in the recent weeks to clampdown on the drug issues in the Maldives.
