Ambassador of United Arab Emirates (UAE) to the Maldives, Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al Shamsi has discussed the establishment of a UAE embassy in Maldives with President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
At a ceremony held on Monday afternoon to present the ambassador's credentials to the president, Dr. Saeed noted the Foreign Ministry's continued assistance in finding a suitable chancery to establish the embassy and thanked the government for their assistance.
The ambassador expressed interest in strengthening relations between both countries, mainly in the business and tourism sector.
The Foreign Ministry has recently arranged a visa waiver for travel between Maldives and UAE. The President in January visited UAE on a state visit.
