Haa Alif atoll hospital to be upgraded as a tertiary hospital

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has announced that the atoll hospital in Dhidhdhoo island of Haa Alif atoll will be upgraded to a tertiary hospital.

During a stop at Dhidhdhio island during the president's current campaign trail to Haa Alif atoll, the president said there are several efforts that need to be undertaken for the development of the nation, including the development of Haa Alif atoll. The budget has been allocated for several projects that have been planned for the development of Dhidhdhoo island, revealed the President.

In order to address the housing issues faced by the island, the government has decided to establish housing units in Dhidhdhoo, and land will be reclaimed to serve the purpose, said the president. The government will also be upgrading the hospitals as previously promised, he assured.

"We will develop the hospitals further, and as promised, upgrade this island's hospital as a tertiary hospital. We will also install asphalt on the roads that have not yet been renovated", President Solih said.

"We will commence the construction of football fields that is needed for the youth of the island. I promised during the presidential election that I would build two football fields in this island, one of the two fields will be constructed this year", he added.

An ice plant will also be installed for the easy access of ice for local fisherman, in addition to the establishment of a junior college.

Sharing further pledges, the president assured that the people of Dhidhdhoo island will no longer have to travel to Male' city to make and collect passports as the services will soon be made available at Dhidhdhoo itself.

The President promised to bring about positive changes and development to Dhidhdhoo island before the end of his 5-year term.
