FlyMe to halt flights to Addu and Fuvahmulah city

Local airline FlyMe has announced that the company is halting the operation of flights to Addu City and Fuvahmulah City.

In a statement released by the airline’s operating company Villa Air on Friday, they revealed that the operation of flights to the two southern atolls will be ceased effective from June 10.

The decision was prompted due to limited number of staff and pilots, read the statement. The operation of flights from capital Male’ to Addu and Fuvahmulah was resumed by the airline just last November.

The company said the airline is currently training additional pilots who will be joining the workforce in the next few months. The flight to Addu and Fuvahmulah will be resumed shortly, they added.

An ATR 72-600 aircraft will be added to the airline’s fleet this October, the company said in their statement.
