A man has been arrested in connection to the molestation of two children aged 6 and 8 years in Hulhumale’.
The case was reported to the police late last Thursday night.
The police on Sunday confirmed that a 19-year old man was arrested on Saturday night. Due to the nature of the case, the police are investigating the case jointly with the Gender Ministry. Steps have been taken to ensure the safety and protection of the two victims, assured the police.
Last week, a 71-year old man was arrested on allegations of sexually abusing a 9-year old girl. Two siblings of the victim aged 13 and 16 are also suspected to be involved in the abuse.
