State submits ex-VP's graft case at Supreme Court

The State has appealed the graft allegations against former Vice-President Ahmed Adeeb at the Supreme Court.

The High Court recently overturned the 2016 Criminal Court conviction against Adeeb that sentenced him to eight years in jail over a US$ five million graft involving Lh. Maabinhuraa. The High Court ordered the Criminal Court to conduct a retrial of the case.

The Prosecutor General has since appealed the case at the Supreme Court last week.
