Defence Minister Maria Ahmed Didi has met with the Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Patrushev.
Minister Mariya is visiting the Russian Federation to take part in the 10th International meeting of High Rankling Officials Responsible For Security on the special invitation of the Security Council Secretary.
During the sideline meeting with the secretary, mutual cooperation in the security sector was discussed in addition to exchange of information related to international terrorism, informs the Defense Ministry.
Minister Mariya is also scheduled to meet the Russian Defence Minister Sergey Shoygu during her trip.
Minister Maria on Tuesday addressed at the 10th International meeting of High Rankling Officials Responsible For Security where over 100 representatives from several countries across the globe are taking part.
In her address, Minister Mariya spoke on issues such as piracy and the effects on the country's economic development due to foreign debt.
