JSC to seek foreign assistance in assessing top court obtrusion

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is seeking assistance from foreign technical experts in evaluating Supreme Court influence on JSC and other entities.

JSC made their decision during a commission meeting held on Monday to look into a case that accused the Supreme Court of unconstitutionally narrowing the parliament's authority.

Speaking to the press, information officer of JSC Hassan Zaheen said that the commission will be seeking the assistance of foreign experts to determine if the Supreme Court had infringed outside of its jurisdiction in any way.

"The commission has decided to make this a top priority investigation and begin the evaluations soon as possible", said Zaheen.

JSC has also made the decision to evaluate all judges to see if they meet the required criteria for their positions. Foreign assistance will also be utilized for this task as such an evaluation has not been carried out in the past.
