Access to Interpol database granted to Maldives Immigration

An agreement has been signed between Maldives Immigration and Interpol National Central Bureau to grant access of the Interpol Database to Maldives Immigration.

The agreement was signed by Immigration Controller General Mohamed Ahmed Hussain (Hanafy) on behalf of Maldives Immigration, and Head of Interpol National Central Bureau of Male', Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed.

Police revealed that the agreement between Maldives Immigration and Interpol National Central Bureau would enhance the border security system, and strengthen Immigration's capabilities in fighting transnational organised crime.

Interpol is an international organization that facilitates worldwide police cooperation and crime control. With 194 member countries, the databases of its central bureaus are connected through one network.
