JSC to probe additional complaint against top court justice

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has made the decision to probe an additional complaint against Supreme Court Justice Abdulla Didi.

The judicial watchdog made the decision during the commission's sitting on Wednesday. The commission revealed that the complaint has been added to the current complaints that are being investigated against the judge and has been forwarded to the relevant investigative committee.

JSC is currently probing several disciplinary complaints involving the judge where serious allegations have been made against him. The judge is accused of being a recipient of funds embezzled from the state, and of influencing the investigation of the graft.

The top court judge is also accused of releasing a suspect involved in the abduction of missing 'Minivan News'' journalist Ahmed Rilwan by means of corruption

The justice denied all allegations against him in an open investigative meeting with the JSC. He then responded to the allegations made against him in writing and traveled to Malaysia for medical purposes.
