Nimal elected as Vice President of PNC

Former Managing Director of FENAKA Corporation Mohamed Nimal has been appointed as the Deputy President of opposing Peoples' National Congress (PNC).

The position became vacant after former Villimale' MP Ahmed Nihan Hussain Manik resigned from the party to join government coalition partner, Jumhooree Party.

Congress Party Monday said Nimal was elected for the post during the party's council meeting held the same day.

While the party's president Abdul Raheem Abdulla congratulated Nimal on being elected VP, Nimal thanked the council for electing him for the post. He vowed to remain a 'bridge' linking the party and its members.

Nimal ran for the VP post in the party's initial congress. However, he was unsuccessful at the time.
