A foreign expatriate being held in captivity in capital Male' has been rescued by Maldives Police Service.
Maldives Police Services stated Friday that they rescued the individual after they received reports of a foreigner being held captive in the third story of a building occupied by foreigners. Five foreigners have been arrested in connection to the case, revealed the police.
The police did not reveal details on the operation and did not comment on the condition of the victim, or the duration for which the man was held captive.
