A man has been arrested for setting vehicles on fire in HDh. Kulhudhufushi.
The police deemed the fire that occurred on 22 October near a home named Kakaage as an act of arson.
The police had earlier stated that a motorcycle parked near Kakaage caught fire and spread to the ceiling of the outer foyer of the house. It also charred a small pick-up truck in the area.
The fire was put out by MNDF Fire and Rescue Services.
After examining the scene and based on evidence they found, the police have concluded that the fire was an act of arson.
The police on Thursday said a 30-year old man was arrested on Monday in connection to the case. The man's remand has been extended by seven days by Kulhudhuffushi Magistrate Court, said the police.
