A child has been injured after part of a ceiling collapsed at state-run IGMH

A child has been injured after part of a ceiling at state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) in capital Male' collapsed on Saturday.

Eye-witnesses said the ceiling gave away due to extensive water damage. Part of the ceiling collapsed on a young child, who sustained minor injuries, they reported.

A spokesperson from IGMH said the hospital is investigating the cause of the accident.
