MNDF commences Port Security training for MPL staff

Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) has commenced a Port Security Training targeted for employees of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL).

The opening ceremony of the Certificate (Level 1) training was commemorated on Sunday by Director General of National Counter-terrorism Centre, Brigadier General Zakariyya Mansoor.

MNDF said that the three-week training is intended for those working at sea port security, to train skilled security officers in the private sector. 30 employees from MPL are taking part in the training.

During the training, fire Safety and emergency management, self defense techniques, International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, safety in working environment, first aid, security equipment, physical training, radio communication, security techniques and procedures and corporate environment will be taught, said MNDF. The training will be conducted by officers from the Coast Guard.
