The Ministry of Foreign affairs will be hosting a temporary Germany-Schengen Visa Biometric Clinic in February, in order to issue visas permitting travel into Germany.
On Monday, the Ministry revealed that the Biometric Clinic will be operational from 09:00 - 18:00 on the 3rd of February through 5th, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Foreign Ministry has urged interested applicants to book appointments before 17:30, January 25.
They further revealed that the temporary clinic was established as a solution to the difficulties Maldivians face while applying for visas to visit Germany, particularly those participating in the Internationale Tourismus-Börse Berlin (ITB) Fair in March.
The Foreign Ministry also made note of an announcement by the Foreign Minister of Maldives, Abdulla Shahid and the Ambassador of Germany, Jörn Rohde on December 16, revealing their plans to establish a permanent Schengen Visa Application Centre in Maldives.
Further, the ministry disclosed that they have now begun efforts in collaboration with VFS Global to establish the centre and begin operations by March 2020.
