Last year 5000 divorced in the Maldives – an increase of 60% as per the statistics revealed by Department of Judicial Administration (DJA).
The statistics publicized on Monday by DJA shows that in last year 5117 divorces ensued – an increase of 61.6% compared to 2018. In 2018, there were 3199 divorces.
Looking into the statics publicized on Monday, there were 6509 marriages last year – an increase of 23% compared to 2018. In 2018 there were 5290 marriages.
Among the least populated countries, Maldives has the highest divorce rates.
