JSC to probe complaints of Civil Court's haste in completing cases

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has revealed that they are looking into complaints that claim that cases being overseen by the Civil Court are concluded in a rushed manner.

The judicial watchdog on Wednesday said the Civil Court has been concluding cases in great haste under efforts to achieve a certain number of cases closed, or to ensure that cases that have been in court for a certain amount of time are completed.

However, complaints that the work is being carried out in such a way that integrity, justice and fairness are compromised have been received by the commission, revealed JSC. Therefore, a decision has been reached to request the Department of Judicial Administration (DJA) to address and resolve the matter, said JSC.
