Ministry seeks parties to send pilgrims to Hajj

The government has opened opportunity for companies seeking to send pilgrims on the Islamic pilgrimage of Hajj to Mecca, Saudi Arabia to submit their proposals.

Only companies that meet a specific criteria gazetted by the government can submit proposals.

Proposal books, and information sheets will now available from the Islamic Ministry. The Ministry said the pre-bid meeting is to be held Thursday at 1:00 PM.

Companies presenting their proposals are expected to pay a fee of MVR 10,000 by February 23. Payment can be made at the Islamic Ministry from 8:30 AM - 12:00 PM on working days.

A total of five companies are given the license to carry pilgrims to Hajj every year including Maldives Hajj Corporation.
