A speedboat travelling from Mayafushi Resort to airport island Hulhule’ ran aground on the reef of Mayafushi on Monday.
The accident occured around 0745 hrs on Monday morning. While 25 tourists, two Maldivians and an expatriate crew member were aboard the vessel at the time of the incident, no persons were hurt in the incident. All passengers and crew were safely transferred to Mayafushi, said Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF).
The grounded is a 40 feet-long launch named Souvenir 19.
