Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has revealed that they are preparing to open land in Phase II of reclaimed suburb Hulhumale' for purchase.
Speaking with AVAS, Managing Director of HDC, Suhail Ahmed stated that land will be leased from Phase II very soon. The company's board has approved the proposition, said Suhail.
A total of 240 hectares of land were reclaimed for Hulhumale' Phase Two development under former President Yameen Abdul Gayyoom's reign in 2017.
While land was reclaimed in Hulhumale Phase II even previously, the then-government attempted to sell off 1000 sqft plots of land for MVR 400,000 just ahead of the 2018 presidential election. However, the efforts were halted by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).
