Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) are attempting to salvage two boats drifting in the open water.
The two boats, with no passengers or crew members aboard, were anchored off industrial island Thilafushi before its anchor chain broke.
According to MNDF, the two vessels, 'Oevaali 101' and 'Oevaali 108' were moored using the same anchor. After reports of the drifting vessels were received, MNDF commenced efforts to salvage both vessels.
MNDF has advised mariners to navigate with caution and keep an eye out for the drifting vessels.
