JSC probes ex-Criminal Court chief judge

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) is investigating a disciplinary issue involving Family Court Judge Abdulla Mohamed.

The judicial watchdog did not reveal the details of the case under investigation. However, it is known that several employees of the Family court and other judges have objections against the judge, and that complaints had been filed accordingly.

Abdulla Mohamed, popularly known as 'Abdulla Ghazee' was a former Chief Judge of the Criminal Court. During the tenure of former president Mohamed Nasheed, the judge was detained at Girifushi island, a move that ultimately cost Nasheed his presidency.
