Health Protection Agency (HPA) has said that they are testing a foreigner at Sandy Bathala Maldives Resort for Covid-19 as the person had contact with a victim of the virus.
In a tweet published on Wednesday night by HPA, it is stated that the person is to be isolated at Farukolhufushi Isolation.

The virus was detected in the Maldives from an Italian tourist who was holidaying in the Maldives.
The other resort that the virus was detected is Bathala Resort - two Italian tourists who were holidaying in the resort have been transferred to Dharumavantha Hospital for further treatment.
Subsequently, two foreigners at Kuramathi resort were also tested positive for the virus on Wednesday. Thus far eight people have been tested positive for Covid-19 in the Maldives and all of them are foreigners.
