Six people have been arrested after a man was discovered dead in Ga. Villingili.
An official from Maldives Police Service on Friday said a 24-year old man was taken to Ga. Atoll Hospital early Friday morning. He was already dead when he was brought to the hospital, said the police. An investigation has been launched into his death after a case was filed with the police, and six people have been arrested in connection to the case, confirmed the police.
The arrested are two 24 year olds, an 18 year old, a 23 year old, a 21 year old and 20 year old, said the police. All six are local men. The police did not reveal the location from which the men were arrested, and did not specify the circumstances of the victim's death.
It has been reported that the dead 24-year old from Ga. Villingili had overdosed on party drugs.
The police are currently investigating the case.
