STO exempts food court rents for period of closure

State Trading Organization (STO) has said that the company has decided to exempt rents of the food courts located at the southwestern side of the capital city, Male’. The food court area is developed and managed by STO.

The government’s trading company, STO Tuesday said the food court café’s were also closed temporarilyy with the government's decision to close dine-in services in café’s and restaurants of Male' as a measure to contain the spread COVID-19. Therefore, STO has made the decision to assist the cafe’ businesses located at the food court area, they said. In this regard, STO will pardon the rents of the food court stalls for the period of closure until the shutdown is released.

The government made the decision to close cafes’ and restaurants of Male region effective from 0000hrs of Sunday. To minimize the loss such businesses will incur due to the temporary shut down, the government has allowed take- away services.
