The equipment required for the newly established Hulhumale' Medical Facility have been installed at the site.
The State Trading Organization (STO) on Thursday said the necessary medical equipment have been installed and the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and other medical items have been provided to the facility. The new facility would support Maldives' efforts against COVID-19.
The 300-bed facility was developed at a vacant lot in front of Tree Top Hospital in the reclaimed suburbs. The facility has been handed over to state-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) after completion.
The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) previously said the construction of the facility cost MVR 12 million, while an additional MVR 28 million was spent to procure the necessary equipment. The facility was constructed mainly by Maldives National Defence Force officers.
