President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has recognised the services of doctors and health-care workers, and thanked them for their contribution. The president made the remark on the occasion of the World Health Day marked on April 7 every year.
President Solih took to popular social network Twitter to express his sentiments.
“This #WorldHealthDay coincides with the most severe global health crisis of our generation, at a time when the bravery and dedication of our doctors, nurses and healthcare professionals are on full display. I thank them and pray that the world is soon made safe from COVID-19”, wrote the president.
Health care workers have been working around the clock to help curb the spread of the virus in the Maldives. The government has formed a special task force of health care workers to contain the spread of the virus.
