Over 1150 complaints have been filed regarding changes in employment status due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Spokesperson of the COVID-19 taskforce Mabrook Azeez said 1159 people have registered complaints on the job portal set up by the Economic Ministry. Most are complaints of having been made redundant, said Mabrook.
A large number of complaints have been filed claiming that employees were forced into taking no-pay leaves.
The Economic Ministry has urged all those whose employment status have been affected by COVID-19 to lodge their complaint to the job centre. The government will be providing a three-month allowance for those who lose their jobs, effective from April.
