The government’s main hospital IGMH has established online clinics to arrange doctors’ appointments amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Since the number of people affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the Maldives is rapidly increasing day by say, doctors' focus at this time is on combating the disease. Therefore, IGMH halted pre-scheduled doctors' appointments amid the pandemic. This has posed a challenge for people having chronic illnesses. According to the hospital, they have established online clinics and commenced services to address the issue.
The clinics will cater for various speciality services such as gynaecology, psychiatry, internal medicine, neurology, cardiology, pediatric services, oncology, ophthalmology, dental services, urology, renal services, and many other specialist services.
