COVID-19: 87 cases with no links to known clusters

The National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) has revealed that 87 cases of COVID-19 that do not have any links to known clusters have been identified.

During NEOC's daily press conference on Saturday night, the centre's Spokesperson Mabrook Azeez said 1177 people out of the 1672 positive cases of COVID-19 detected in the Maldives are linked to different known clusters. However, 81 people have no known links to any clusters, and belong to independent clusters, said Mabrook. Authorities are working to detect how the patients became infected with the virus, he added.

The Maldives has recorded 401 recoveries and five fatalities thus far. The number of active cases is currently 1264 and 13 patients are receiving treatment at Tree Top Hospital. Two are being treated in the Intensive Care Unit.
