COVID-19: Seventh fatality; second death in last 24 hours

Maldives recorded its seventh COVID-19 related fatality early morning on Tuesday.

The Health Protection Agency (HPA) said an 89-year old local woman from HDh. Vaikaradhoo passed away at 6:20 am at Hulhumale' Isolation Facility. This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 7. Three were of Bangladeshi nationals and the remaining deaths were of elderly locals.

The country recorded its sixth COVID-19 related death earlier on Monday. The total number of positive cases identified in the Maldives have reached 1829. 488 recoveries have been recorded to date.
