COVID-19: Individual in home quarantine tests positive in Maamendhoo

Authorities have revealed that a 28 year old man completing home quarantine in Ga. Maamendhoo has tested positive for COVID-19.

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC)'s spokesperson Mabrook Azeez said 40 people traveled on the same plane as the positive patient when he traveled to Kooddoo en route to Maamendhoo. He had not displayed any symptoms of the virus before his travel, and developed symptoms a day after arriving at his destination.

While two family members of the patient traveled on the same flight, most other passengers are from Gemanafushi island. Contact tracing is now ongoing.
